The best part of having a relationship is getting to call the person or lay down next to them and tell them all the crazy things that happened to you all day long, and in the end that’s what it’s about. It’s not about the sex, it’s not about the money that they give you or whatever. It’s not about how good-looking they are, it’s about, can they listen to you talk for hours and hours and hours about stupid shit that doesn’t matter. And if they can, then you’re meant to be together forever. Even if that means you have to call them 100 times, that’s okay.

The Difference Between Boys & Girls:
Me: Okay, let’s figure out what to text him.
She: Maybe something like ‘what are you up to?’
Me: Should I go into what I’m doing, where we are, see if he wants to come meet up?
She: I don’t know. Maybe just keep it simple. Or you could call!

Failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. This has been running through my mind for a few days years now. I’ve been toying with working part of it into my next tattoo (uh, hi mom, sorry) but I’m letting the idea settle first.
(When I went to find this in my blog to link it above, I picked a random page number out of hundreds - and it was the right one on the first try. I love when stuff like that happens. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to spend the rest of the night overanalyzing if it’s a sign that I should and/or should not go with this idea.)
